Venue for the scientific programme

On a beautiful mountain plateau between the Wipptal valley and Stubaital valley, the small Austrian village of Mutters offers an unspoilt landscape just a short drive south of Innsbruck. The village is located at an altitude of 830 meters above sea level, surrounded by breath taking mountains all around. High above towers the mighty Nockspitze (2,404 m) and the cosy Mutterer Alm hut. In summer the alpine region is a paradise for sports enthusiasts, bikers and mountaineers. Visitors interested in local history can visit the Schupfenwirt, the general headquarter of Andreas Hofer, leader of the Tyrolean freedom fighters who successfully defended their homeland against Napoleonic troops in 1809. On hot summer days there is no better place to cool off than in the village’s own open-air swimming pool or the nearby Lake Natterer See. On the doorstep: One of Europe's best Bike Park. Every year top riders from all over the world come together and compete in downhill races and show their best long jumps.

The 2nd FEBS workshop AGING and REGENERATION will be held at the 4-star hotel dasMEI in the Austrian village Mutters. The hotel offers a marvellous panoramic view of the Nordkette mountain range. DasMEI is the perfect place to combine a scientific conference with exciting outdoor activities and meet the speakers in a more informal setting. For those who prefer to relax and recharge batteries during lunch breaks, the hotel's SPA area offers ample opportunities.

Accommodation

Event participants will stay at the 4-star hotel dasMEI. Accommodation will be in single or shared rooms according to the selected registrant type. Junior scientists will be accommodated in shared rooms in the accompanying Muttererhof. Allocation of the rooms is based on the date when your application is received and is the responsibility of the course organizers.  

How to get here

By Plane

The Innsbruck airport is approximately 20 minutes driving time away from Mutters, Munich airport about 2.5 hours. Public airport transfer can easily be organized. 

By Car from Kufstein

To reach the hotel dasMEI in Mutters, take the highway A12, direction Arlberg/Switzerland, which forks into highway A13 (direction Brenner/Italy) near Innsbruck. Follow the A13, take the exit Innsbruck Süd and then the B182 towards Mutters.

By Car from Bregenz

To reach the hotel dasMEI in Mutters, take the highway A12, direction Kufstein/Vienna/Germany, which forks into highway A13 (direction Brenner/Italy) near Innsbruck. Follow the A13, take the exit Innsbruck Süd and then the B182 towards Mutters. 

By Train / Bus

Bus lines 4140 or 4142 (operated by VVT) are departing from Innsbruck main station every day hourly (line 4140) or half-hourly (line 4142), respectively. The bus ride takes approx. 10 min Innsbruck to Natterer Auffahrt. Tickets can be bought directly in the bus. After a 3 min walk from Natterer Auffahrt to Natters Gärberbach, take the STB tram (Stubaitalbahn) operated by the IVB, which takes you to Mutters Bahnhof within 10 min (tickets available in the tram). From there it is a 3 min walk to the conference Hotel dasMEI.
